    Hi guys and gals!

I thought I'd drop by to show off my latest game, 'The Drive - Devil's Run'.

The fine fellows at AppSpy were nice enough to preview it on their site, so here's the video!

Still working on a few bugs before I hand it off to the publisher, but hopefully it will be available on iOS in a few weeks :)

    Cheers!

    Karl.

The game looks fun are you planning on releasing it to other platforms? Also are there going to be any other driving controls (like tilt or auto accelerate)?

Congrats on the preview by the way! Do you have any suggestions on how others can get on these websites?

    Hi,

It does have tilt controls too but no auto-accelerate. The physics are based on real world cars so auto accelerate doesn't work very well as often you need to lift off the gas (without braking) to get around corners quickly etc. Lifting off the gas and throwing it sideways can start a nice drift, too :)

The game will be released on iOS and Android initially but iOS will be first.

As for getting the preview, I was approached after Peter from AppSpy saw my thread on Touch Arcade. I had another couple of journalists do the same, so I guess starting a game thread in the TA forums and a bit of luck is all you need :)

Ah, that makes sense, a lot of people like having multiple options for control schemes. I totally get that you are trying to go for a physically driven game so having auto accelerate would complicate things. I think Asphalt 8 is a good example of multiple controls, but again, that is more of an arcade racer. At any rate, hopefully you will explore putting it on Windows Phone (I feel like I am saying that a lot...).

And thanks for the tip for getting a preview, I will definitely check out the Touch Arcade forums. Would you suggest to send them an email as well?

Oh yeah, it will more than likely appear on Windows Phone, too. I need to upload a build so MS can check it out and send me my test device :)

If you have a game at a stage you are comfortable showing off, definitely email any and all review sites. They should all have addresses specifically for that. I've never had success that way but none of my previous games have been amazing and they get a LOT of requests. Certainly can't hurt! I'm going with a publisher this time around, so I don't have to worry about the marketing side of things.

I also know the writers at TA (and other sites) keep a close eye on the forums there, so if there seems to be a bit of interest in your thread, no doubt they'll already have your game on their radar :)

Sweet thanks for the suggestions, I will definitely follow up on with an email to help promote it. I'm not too sure if I want to get a publisher quite yet, I think that I need to be more experienced with PR myself so that I can communicate with them.

Again, thanks for the comment they really helped. I hope that your game does well. Best of luck.
