Hi people! my name is Emmanuel Ramos, i don't usually post in the forums(That's because many threads are already answered), but in this opportunity i'm looking for Beta Testers for my first serious(But very short) project.

This is an horror game about solving some puzzles, running from a creature, and an interesting and hard to understand argument, is about the losts souls dimension, something like the spiritual realm, but well you'll find out what's everything about when you play it.

Inspired by games like Frictional Games "Amnesia" and Ivan Zanotti’s "Imscared."

INTO THE GLOOM. (No video yet, sorry..., )

Welcome to this goddammit gloomy place.

    |------------------------------------------------------ABOUT BETA TESTING!-----------------------------------------|

I'm looking for responsible people who:

-Test this game, making constructive critics (No things like "Your game is bad...", instead, "I don't like your game because...[reason], and please if you can give one [solution]").

-Respect my ownership rights, just don't redistribute the game files, modify them, piracy and you know the rest.
(I trust many of you, because you all know what's going indie is like.)

So your task as beta testers is simple:

-Find errors, bugs, glitches, going through walls, game mechanics exploit, and those things...
-If you can give game improvement recommendations please do it! i would appreciate it much.
-If the game scared you in some way.
-And please, tell me if you understood something about the game plot.

If you are interested please contact me at earrgames@gmail.com

Thanks to everyone!, and sorry for my english, I'm not native speaker.
    Cheers, Emmanuel Ramos.

Okay i have just tested briefly but i have found two bugs which are as follows:
When you get the pipe and you accidently restart game, you have two pipes when getting the pipe Again so i assume that you haven't made the first pipe be destroyed when starting a new game...
2nd: i got Down to the cellar and i couldn't get any further... i tried to interact with the map-thingy on the wall but nothing happened so i assumed you hadn't completed that part of the level yet... but i didn't get scared execpt once i opened a door and suddenly i moved the camera like crazy (sorry it's 4 am here and i'm tired :D!) but the atmosphere is good enough i think i like the creepy music i would like however that you would turn Down the movement speed i think the player moves way too fast to get scared (only Works if it's 4 am and you're very tired :p) but my really honest opinion: i like what you have done so far it's actually a neat Little game (as far as i could play...) and i look very much forward to see more of this game! i think you can be proud of the Unique look you have tried to accomplish it is very Unique.
oh by the way, i also felt some disturbance with the camera which began to "spin" or move very fast, i really would love to see this as a "survival" horror game but that is just my opinion :) otherwise great job on your game so far ;)

Wow you discovered some weird bugs haha, about the thing in the wall you need to press the red buttons around the frame, there should appear the hand icon (i'll check out possible bugs), about the pipe, is just that i forgot to reset the player vars(Inventory is an static var), and about the scary things, so far in that map there's no real thing to fear, you'll se later.

PD: i'll consider making player run slower, But i think is necessary in further in the game :D.
    Thanks!;)

you're most welcome i thought it was a fun experience and i like the concept very much! (the thing about 16 / 32 bit horror game in 3d space, it is simply AWESOME ;) ) great luck in making it a full game i really wish you the best!

Uh about being survival horror this was supposed to be that in beggining, but in my experience giving the player the power of self defense breaks down entirely the feelling of fear, (Not like in amnesia, a very intense experience).

But who knows, maybe in the future i'll try to make one.

And about the game, all the maps are already done, there are about 9 maps, the cellar one is the second, try the buttons again whenever you can, in the script there's no real reason for the buttons not to be working.

    Thanks again!

Alright, a little beta testing update :p i have done as you asked me to by testing the red buttons again, and it did indeed work there is just the thing that you have to stand very close, or so it seems when i play the game (i usually play with the resolution: 2560 x 1440) and i am *stuck* again, now this time is also probably my own fault i can't seem to get any further from the next section (the one with the big ventilators) and yes i got scared for a moment by the black thingy that suddenly came up in front of me, now i don't know how to get further from here and i really won't want to let you tell me because it would spoil a great adventure (yes your game is very FPS Horror / Adventure kind of game with the mouse interaction) that i get to like more and more for every minute i play it, now i am very sorry but at 4 am i was very tired and i don't think very straight at the time so i thought it was your game that has some bugs, but i haven't found any *true* bugs except the one with the pipe being multiplied when you have it in the inventory and start a new game! but it is a cool game so far the only thing that is truly bothering me is that so far i *have* to play in 800 x 600 as i'm (mentioned above) used to play in 2560 x 1440 but that it just a simple function you need to turn on if you want people to be able to choose for them selves :D but nope, no true errors or bugs as of yet ('kept for the pipe thing :p), cheers!

Oh you can increase resolution up to 1366x768 by clicking the small screen icon in the lower right corner of the main menu, i'll add more resolutions as you suggested, and i'll tell you something, a very tiny spoiler.... "Check Blood marks in the cellars...".

Another thing about black ghost spawns.... they are random! Buahahahah!:D

So I just finished the game under 30 minutes. And I F***ing liked it! The *poor* graphics make you think: "This can't be scary" but every time that damn ghost appears I S*** myself. I almost fell of my chair when the hung up dude went forward and the ghost spawned right after. Good combination of sound and visualization! I didn't struggle anywhere for more than a minute. I did have a second thought on the wall puzzle with the pipes, I don't know what it was for, I just kinda connected the 2 gray ones.

As for the controls, the mouse sensitivity is kinda fast for me, But I adjusted myself after a while.
For the keybinds, you did make a new version for me (I'm on a AZERTY keyboard) to keymap the keys, but forward and backward didn't work for me, left and right, use items, etc did.

IMO, I think you should move more of the keys to the mouse (I didn't try to map them, but if it is possible, excuse me then)

As for the resolution, Theres no 1600x900 D: , most 17" laptops have this one!

Soooo, Too bad there isn't moare! My overall rating is 9/10, good work !

Wow thanks! I'll add that resolution, and about the buttons config, that's weird it didn't worked forward and backwards, it worked fine for me, but i'll have a look at it, also what do you think about walking/sprintting with a button(Shift probably)? loqen propossed it but i don't know if that would be necessary, but that's just my opinion, ;).
I'll make middle mouse button work as combine button also.

Greetings Usman Cheema! well, there'll be an almost final release, so yes, that would be good if a fresh man try the almost final version, as long as you comply with the terms of no piracy and that stuff you can test it. Send me your email at earrgames@gmail.com.

    Cheers!

I don't think a sprint is necessary, since you don't really have to run from things. And with sprinting you probably overlook a lot of important things! just an opinion :)

You're right, and maybe having to press the button to run can ruin in some way the gameplay, but well i just take in consideration every opinion.

Ooh BTW, i have noticed the mouse sensitivity and it has been severely improved ;) and it is just (unfortunately i can only speak for myself) a very good gaming experience and the part with the "alternative ending" is just something i thought i should mention that you could tell at the start of a new game that why the player is in this twisted place... just saying that could be a informative thing for the player so the player knows why he/she is there but again... just my opinion :D (i should mention i just continued the game instead of thinking clearly that i should have started a new game... sorry Emmanuel :( ) but all in all i love your game! it is enjoyable and it really gives me the willies but also a thought of "maybe i should actually try to complete this awesome game!" i thank you Emmanuel for letting me try your game! Thanks a lot, i have enjoyed every second ;) Cheers mate.

I think it is awesome with the jittering text makes it more "natively" creepy in the matter that i think people understands the message of the trailer that your game is a horror game and not some kids game ;) i like all your work so far :D
