Interfacing physical Push To Talk

Don't know if some one of you know an hardware product, headphone+microphone, with a push to talk button that could be detected via software (ex. reading the serial port or maybe seen as a Joystick). The usual products physical interrupt the microphone line without sending any message to the windows system. Listening to the audio level is not enough especially if the user is silent.
