    Hi guys,

we've finally taken the next step and launched a Kickstarter campaign. We have a funky stylized Sci-Fi shooter promising to be fun to play with friends with speedy game-play and awesome creatures to kill.

We have some amazing rewards starting at £7 (~$10) and a Quad Pack at just £19 ($28.8) so it's pretty easy to help bring Insection to life.

Looking good, however the required amount of money seems a lot. :D
But I'll back you up. ;)

Thanks guys! Glad you like it.

@tatoforever: it is, but it has been calculated to the asset level, the people needed and even translations, voice acting etc and we don't have hours of talking like other games. We will be updating the Kickstarter with a few more info on the subject, maybe even a pie chart, everyone likes pie charts, right?

The game looks awesome. Close to AAA I might say !
I will follow closely your Kickstarter campaign as I'm curious how will turn out.
Does Kickstartet have the campaign option to fund partially the campaign and still take the raised cash ?

I wish you best of luck!

    Hi primus88,

I'm glad you like it. No, Kickstarter campaigns get the funds only if they are successful. If we don't secure the goal we can't complete the game in a reasonable time-frame, so getting partial funds would just put is an weird situation of having to complete something we don't have the funds to complete.

On the other hand that means that if you back us - and that would be very helpful - you will only have to actually pay if we succeed. So backing is us means you are helping us make the game, if we aren't going to make the game there is no loss to you., if we do you get the game.

    Cheers

I didn't notice a development history of other games in the kickstarter. Did i miss this or is it going to be added?

    @TheRaider:

    Hi Raider,

We don't have the most extensive list or the most impressive list, but we aren't noobs. We just didn't feel that the previous titles/projects we have contributed to would ad anything to the Kickstarter. Since you asked though, here is my blog: http://www.koyima.com/blog, here is my Linked in: linkedin.com/in/koyima/ and my Elance: https://www.elance.com/s/purplecrab/.

Now as far as anything notable that you might know of:
Archetype was App of the month a couple of years ago and it is in the App hall of fame, which isn't really anything to brag about.

I have done work for ILM's and Sony Open Imageworks RnD on Alembic a file format for mesh animation data transferring through Turbosquid (for which I have also worked with for a number of years on a variety of projects including commercials and TV shows), but again unrelated.

Some notable clients that have used my works (without ever knowing about it): Nivea, Heinz, Burger King, Amazon Children's Publishing, Art Institutes of America, Mercedes... why would you care about this info?

Thanks, IMO any proof you are capable of actually finishing projects is worth showing. Especially on these forums most people will realise getting your first project up is a big deal even if simple. You learn so much and leaves you in a much better position for the second.

This does look cool. Might be worth investigating govt/institutional funding if there's any(left) in Greece.

The project looks awesome, but looking at the numbers. It looks like you are going to have a hard time reaching your goal in time.
In case that happens, what is your backup plan? :/

Back-up plan: things are difficult, a project of this size without funding is unlikely to succeed. So head over there and back us:D.

Not as many? We will try to push the number of bugs as high as possible.

I don't think it would be possible to simulate as many bugs as the movies in a game (or would even make a fun game), but the images of the hoardes of bugs makes that one of my favourite movies of all time!

    A small change of plans

    Dear friends, fans and supporters,

All of us at Glasswing Studio would like to thank you for your tremendous support over all these months and during our Kickstarter campaign.

Unfortunately, our Kickstarter didn’t have the traffic and the pledges we expected it to and we’ve decided to pull the plug on the campaign.

This doesn’t mean of course that Insection’s development is stopping as well. We will continue to develop Insection but the release date is nowhere near where it’d be if our Kickstarter was successful, so from April 2014 the release date is now falling in the category of “Coming when it’s ready” release date genre :)

We will be back, and having advanced in development we will have more awesome stuff to show. Our Indiedb and Greenlight submission is still active and will continue to be so and we will update it when there’s something new.

Once again, all of us would like to thank you for your support, your shares, the articles you’ve written about us, and your kind words of encouragement or even criticism.

The community is what makes, and will make, Insection what it is, and will be and we thank you greatly for that.

You can always contact us on:

    Facebook: www.facebook.com/insectiongame

    Twitter: www.twitter.com/insectiongame

And at info (at) glasswingstudio (dot) com

    Over and out,

    The Glasswing Studio team.
