1819, early Canada. Just a simple man living off the land in his cabin. Tending the field, making bread, cutting wood for the fire, all seems fine. Until his troubled past begins to catch up with him. A young man from a broken family, sent to war, did his mind no good. He begins seeing all he did wrong. His nightmares becoming no different from his reality. If he can't fix this, it will be his end, but who can stop fate?

The Targon Studios made game series, Society's Burden, is back with its second game being developed, Insanity. A free roam survival horror game (If you haven't seen the first game in the series, you can check it out here). Lots of work has been put into it, with over 400 textures (Compared to around 150 from the first game), over 70 original audio clips, and two original music tracks made already. Although it is no where near done.

The game is similar to the first one. How the worse your condition is, the harder things become (In the first one, actions taking longer, and in this one experiencing events more often/events being worse). You play as a man scarred from his childhood and events in the war of 1812, who was forced into fleeing. After running away from war, you find yourself living up alone in northern Canada. Cutting trees down, making candles, baking bread, its just a simple game of living in the woods. That is until night comes. Sleep, once a dreaded thing, becomes the only thing keeping you away from the horrors of night, at least nightmares can't hurt you.

How the game will work is there is events. Events can range from a noise you wonder if you really heard, to walking into what you thought was your bedroom, but ending up some where far worse. These events become more frequent and much worse the higher your Insanity and longer the game goes on. There is nothing set for you to do, although, you can try and get rid of it, but it will be very hard to do. So, unlike the first game, there will be a way to rid of the illness.

Insanity will feature its main game mode, of trying to last or even overcome your Insanity, which is described overhead (Kind of like the first game, but more). Although, there will possibly be another mode, story mode, that describes in detail what happened to the main character and what caused his insanity. Story mode, if it were added, would mostly take place in the war of 1812, where it all began for him. It would not so much be horror as it would be action and some history (Horror would come later in it). Story mode wouldn't be the main feature of the game. A poll has been set at the top, so make sure to vote on what you want, your votes will be the outcome on if its added or not. If story mode were to be added, the game would either take longer to make, or would be worked less on in the horror section of the game. So if you came wanting horror, story mode would not be the choice (Until later in it).

There is still much to do, and lots to add. Targon Studios is working very hard on this, hoping to get a playable demo out within the month. There is a lot I haven't said about it yet. Thanks for reading, and make sure to follow. Feedback and any thoughts are very appreciated!

Just a small update I wanted to show. Outside now looks a whole lot better. Everything outside has a list of random textures it will be given when the game is started (Just a bit of randomization). Every game will be a little different from the last. The trees, rocks, background mountain, trees next to the camera, and clouds are given a random texture when the game starts (the placement always stays the same).

I have also been working on the sleeping. It already has much more detail, looks, and works much better than the first game's sleeping. Along with the sleeping will come the nightmares, which I am also working on.

Also, remember to vote for story mode! Your votes will determine whether it will be made or not.
