Input BackQuote Single Quote Problem

    Hello,

    I've tried searching for others with this problem but I cannot find anyone else who has the same issue.

    When running Input.GetKeyDown and Input.GetButtonDown methods to check against KeyCode.BackQuote or ` (backquote) it also successfully checks against ' (single quote).

    I'm running Unity 4.3.4f1 and I'm on Windows 7 x64.

    Does anyone else get this issue? If someone could confirm that would be great - I'd go and log a bug report then. In my case I do not want the successful check against the single quote as I'm using this check for my developer console.

    It doesn't do that with OS X, at least with a US keyboard, so I'd say it's either a bug or possibly a keyboard problem if you're using a different layout (which would still be a bug).

    Interesting. Thanks for checking for me on US keyboard and OS X.

    I'm using a UK keyboard configuration. If anyone has Windows 7 x64 I'd very much appreciate if someone could confirm.

    EDIT: To provide more info this happens in the Editor and on a stand alone build.

    Just to keep everyone up to date. The Unity team were able to reproduce the bug with my example. They've sent it on to the developers for fixing.

    Good deal, I'm guessing it's specific to the keyboard layout. I tested in Windows 8.1 x64 in Unity 4.3.4f1 and was not able to reproduce it (US Keyboard)

    Sadly, this problem still exists in Unity 4.5.2.

    Based on kungfooman's response, it looks like a bug in the OS - otherwise it'd be downright bizarre for three engines to have the exact same bug. If that's accurate, it wouldn't be unreasonable for UT to wash their hands of responsibility for the bug - if it's even possible to fix on their end at all.

    That said, 4.5.3 is out now, though I don't see anything in the release notes about this fix.

    Sorry for posting to an old thread, but this issue still exists in 5.6.3 (not sure about 2017, haven't tried it yet). Is there any fixes to this?
