As much as i appreciate the quick release of patches and updates - it becomes increasingly annoying having to download the whole thing over and over again.

Also very much appreciated is the new UnityHub, but it has the same problem:
With every small patch we have to uninstall and reinstall.
I can only imagine how people with not-so-broad broadband cope with this.

Please dear Unity engineers - End the era of full downloads

    With the greatest respect,
    Chris

I think this is required because normally you don´t just update your single Unity installation. In professional workspaces you keep the old version for a while because of multiple reasons:

    - You might have an already published version of your game with an older Unity version so you need to keep it in case of small bugfix patches
    - When upgrading a larger project there are quite a few places where things can go wrong so you keep the old version just in case

Unity (even with multiple build targets) is quite small compared to other engines/software. So creating an incremental patch system is not really needed.

Well i agree with almost everything you said, but still -
why would i have to re-install the whole thing for a small patch?
I'm pretty sure that a lot of users would appreciate a delta update method in the case of updating a specific version.

I don't agree with the assessment of size.
Just for the engine and editor its a ~600mb download every time.
With more build targets this quickly grows pretty big.

I have all kinds of versions installed - and i update them regularly.
As i said i appreciate the UnityHub which allows us to manage the installation of different versions,
but i'm scratching my head over the fact that i have to uninstall and reinstall for a small patch.
