I have a talk here with my friends (but mostly with my self) about what kind of texture is the best to import in Unity... so, the texture is 4K and the choice is PSD or TGA or PNG or JPG. If I remember well there was some trick that I can use every channel in PSD file for different texture (im not sure in that). For HDRP will be used. And maybe you have some more suggestions or some useful links. Also it is not just about albedo texture it is about all kind of textures, also Im wondering what if I use Substance and import these kind of textures in Substance than Substance --> Unity ... ?

Don't use JPG because that uses lossy compression.

TGA or PNG doesn't make any difference, as far as I know.

I don't know about PSD because I don't have Photoshop, but any tricks like the one you mentioned will probably just make your textures more difficult to work with, without any benefit.
