Bug Imported files have first character of name replaced with underscore

I recently updated from a 2017 build of Unity to 2020.1.13f1, and I've noticed the editor inappropriately replacing the first character of file names with an underscore upon importing them into the editor. Two examples:

• I dragged-and-dropped Sparkle.png into the Project, and the editor renamed it to _parkle
• I dragged-and-dropped Classes.xml into the Project, and the editor renamed it to _lasses

This is deeply annoying and actively slows down my workflow. It has only happened to me in Unity 2020.1.13f1.

Looks like an editor bug, doesn't seem like it's been patched yet.
