    Hey everyone,

Normally I just keep to myself but I need to call two fellow game dev's out on something. Khelton Headley and Oliver Simon are running an Indiegogo which you can find below. They are attempting to scam people out of money from the looks of it.They have already gotten 37.00 USD as of this writing and are using the flexible funding model on Indiegogo. I have posted this on r/scams and am planning to post it on a few other sites if they do not desist this action. I would encourage you if you are doing business with Khelton and Oliver to Stop and look at the link below.

    https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/ picture-of-exactly-one-million-dollars/

It shames me that fellow game devs would stoop this low for money.

    - Thank you for time

Not a scam considering people can use their heads and decide to pay if they so choose. This doesn't make sense, you're only doing this out of spite, due to arguments in the past. Grow up and get over it.

Thanks for linking the post, hopefully now it'll get funded.

Hahahaha... and you are member of Internet Police??

I see nothing wrong with that they did.. frankly, they want to collect 1 Million USD, They even said on Indiegogo "The goal is to get a picture of 1 million dollars, nothing more."

    What's the scam??

Looks fine to me... Where is the scam exactly?
In fact, I might just donate once I get some money in my Paypal.

True there are those that use their heads and lets say people back project like yours expecting a mug or a T Shirt with the one million dollars on it. However you selected Flexible funding which means even if you do not make your goal you get the money anyway. That is how indiegogo works. Plus you have to take into account fees which you have not done.

Indiegogo takes a certain percentage and paypal takes another percentage. See here

Either way it is a non-deliverable product. The way you have been talking about it in the Unity bar and grill makes it sound like that you are doing this for the money not for S***s and giggles.

On top of everything - KickStarter and Indiegogo rely on Trust.

There are allot of unanswered questions about this -

You said that a large portion of the Million dollars will be donated to a charity chosen by the highest contributor.

    Question - How much is a large portion? 90%? 80%? 65%? etc.

Question - What about the people who do not receive their items? (Mugs, T-Shirts, Pictures, etc.)

Allot of money goes into fulfillment - See here

I would encourage you to take this down KhIelton.

The way it is setup, regardless of how much we make. If they get the $50 perk for a t-shirt. A custom shirt costs $30, all the fees are in there. Indiegogo takes 9%, which isn't a large number. It's all sorted out that way, so that if they pay, they get what they paid for.

The product is totally deliverable. If we don't reach our goal of $1,000,000 we'll still take a picture of however much we get. In the Bar and Grill so far all you've been doing is sending links of threads where you bash me and call it a scam(this and reddit). We discussed donating it there, and for those who don't know. It's 80%. Child's play or another charity, will be decided in the future. All of this is sorted out, and makes perfect sense to everyone except you. If you pay you shall receive. You also seem to be the only person who has a problem with this, and thats fine. Just note that this isn't a scam, we're doing this because we want to photograph a million dollars, however once we get that we'll do better things with the money, and it's all around just something to enjoy. If you don't like it, don't contribute. Simple as that.

Answer - 80% will be donated.
Answer - Who didn't get their mug? Once they purchase the perk, they've already paid for the mug, fees included.

You have no idea what are you talking about. You don't need to deliver anything on Indiegogo.. there are a lot of super strange campaigns like "fund my trip to Ibiza".

Is not your problem how peoples chose to spend their money and on what projects.

I do not want a fellow developers reputation ruined by a bad decision they made. Which is why I am posting this.

Kinda why I am doing this call out on them.

Technically it's not a scam, but pointless nonetheless.

It's obvious what they try here. Make something super ridiculous and hope it goes viral. Like the dude with his $30.000 potato salad recently.

From what I can see, the only reputation that is going to be ruined is yours.

LOL - Go for it. People will give money to anything - see the original internet $1m wall http://www.milliondollarhomepage.com/

My only ethical point would be to ensure that a really good cause charity get the promised share. Other than that - if you can think of an idea, and people throw money at you, you're a winner.

Note: I didn't make this world, I only live in it.

Of course, I've donated to charity in the past, we will show proof that we've donate once the campaign is over and photos + perks are handled.

You said you donated to charity in the past. Why not show proof of that?

No, I don't believe you. If you actually didn't want a fellow developer's reputation to be ruined by a bad decision they made then you would not be attempting to call attention to their bad decision.
