Import/updating a project is slow

    I haven't really used the windows version so I don't know if it's better there.

    Importing this project takes about 4.5 minutes: https://github.com/OSVR/OSVR-Unity-Palace-Demo

    This isn't a big project. I shudder thinking about how long it would take to open a real world game, assuming the opening time scales in a linear way.

    Importing projects for the first time and upgrading to a newer version (ex: 4.x to 5.x) was always pretty slow. For my project (about 5 GB of assets) it took about 15 minutes to complete the upgrade. I'd argue it has even improved since I was playing around with Unity 5 on Windows when it first came out.

    This one has 445 megabyte of assets. Good to know that it's not a problem of the linux editor, but it's still pretty slow.
