The editor is like Unity towards ease of use, i will try the framework and C# , something i have not done yet.
I also think this open source engine is lot better than Godot and Xenko, and have very similar base to Unity, with same component system and easy framework, if some people or users take care of it could quickly become like blender a major 3D engine used for thousand of games.

For that it need "realz" game.
It should also jump on the procedural bandwagon to differentiate early and quickly.

    Wow. Good job!
    Looking forward to this.

At some point I will try to port the ocean system I modded in the past for Banshee.

    I don't like procedural :D
Still procedural is about tools and plugins not the editor and basic features.

A PBR shader is using most if the time textures for Diffuse and normal map, i don't see procedural here ?

Well the code is there for something you aint painting that lighting, and you say this as procedural don't use handcraft part, they do.

Another way to call procedural generation is effectively "tools" you are right. But then if you consider shaders (I mean ready made like pbr) core engine features, then the procedural is no diferent. But more importantly supporting the philosophy at the core of the engine can help make them better.

You're taking a series of inputs (vertex data, texture maps), running a series of steps on them, and producing output. The only real key part of a procedural system is that it's code processing a series of steps (aka a procedure).

Hi! Interesting read, but I'll have to close the thread down now due to promotion of a competitive product.
Good luck with the engine! I also come from a background building a different engine before joining Unity, and it's certainly an exciting journey.
