For a product to boast its ease and simplicity as much as unity does, I do truly hope something is done about the state of documnetation and references. I have gotten absolute bare bone networking working , but it has not been an easy task by any means, unless following direct tutorials that are all the same and basically say ...

""Attach this cube prefab (capsule even :p) to the Player Prefab of the NetworkManager component.

But it becomes very obvious that this is not very helpful in anything bigger then a sample tutorial on Network Manager.

So through much trial error and perserverance i have indeed gotten *some* networking to function, but im still a long ways from anything much useful.

But its things like this... the Singleton object, that i have come to understand is absolutely imperitive to the functioning of networkManager, yet ...

Please Unity, c'mon... and apparently, the documentation has been this way for several years. I even see .JS scripts still showing in some areas, yet that's supposedly been deprecated for awhile... better yet, i have even seen examples in the docs showing networkView... Uhh... tsk tsk

Anyways, love Unity, but im disappointed that this last couple years i have been away and unity has boasted how much easier and intuitive things are, well , thats just not true imo.

I think the unet documentation is very bad, however the singleton isn't a good representation of the bad parts. Singletons are covered in basic OOP introductions and are not a Unet thing so there isn't anything to actually document about it.

However, just in case - the singleton is a static reference to the NetworkManager instance. You use NetworkManager.singleton to access anything public covered in the root NetworkManager documentation

thanks. But yea, in general , the point was, it seems almost every corner i turn in the manual, just does loops not really covering much.

I admit, im not experienced in alot of much , but i'm pluggin my way through unity and csharp, and most everything makes sense, except the networking.

    Anyways, cheers mate.
