I'm having trouble resizing my terrain.

    I've got a single heightmap with a texture of a target landscape over it, however the product in question is not to the scale I need it to be so that I can work on it. When I resize it by doubling the hightmap's width/height in the terrain options it does what I want for the actual land technically, but I can't figure out how to keep the image to scale and just have it stretch with the heightmap. I've tried I've tried everything I can think of and played with the texture file itself, however it keeps artifacting. The texture appears to scrunch in on one dimension, while stretching out on the other, thus producing bands of color. Any help would be appreciated.
