IL2CPP causes conflict with Restream & OBS

    We have tested this thoroughly. A user who uses the Restream software with OBS was streaming a game. THe Restream using VST 2.x plugin. If the build of the game uses il2cpp, it causes the audio to intermittently be cut off. We tried many different configurations including muting the in-game audio.

    We gave the user a Unity build in mono and the sound stopped getting cut off.

    Note that this issue only happened with this user because they are using this software called Restream which re-routes their audio.

    Passing this on from the audio team:

    The cutting off could be caused by some calculation ending up producing invalid floating point numbers that break all audio processing further down the line. If there is any way to capture the audio in OBS that might be useful. You could also try to throw https://github.com/Unity-Technologies/NativeAudioPlugins/blob/master/Assets/scripts/AudioRecorder.cs on the AudioListener to see if the broken audio is in there (assuming here you are using the AudioSource API and not stuff like DSPGraph which mixes in audio at a later point).

    It writes a .wav in the native audio format (32 bit float, so errors should be clearly visible there). You’d need to tweak the path so that it can write to somewhere on the User’s disk. Also note that https://docs.unity3d.com/ScriptReference/MonoBehaviour.OnApplicationQuit.html works differently on different platforms, so you might have to close the .wav explicitly, as the header information is the last thing written to adjust for the unknown length of the recording.
