Can I create and publish the games from the book on my website to showcase what I've learned? Or would it have to be original games I've made myself to avoid copyright issues?

If it's my book, you can definitely show off whatever you create, even if it's straight out of the book. :)

MiniScript is that old? Here I had the impression you had only just come up with it somewhat recently.

Sorry. It's the only book I can answer for, but I can speculate that other authors would be fine with it too.

If I were to do this, and it's probably something I would consider doing, I would put a link to the book and make it clear that this was something I made from that book so nobody tried to think I was passing it off as my own work. I think if you did that, you would probably be OK.
