If making a PSM game, then developing with Regular Unity 4.6 and new gui stuff is a no go?

It seems the PSM Unity lags behind the main version of unity by several versions, there is no mapping say that like Unity psm is basically Unity 4.something with PSM build targets? So just want to confirm this is the case and if so that means no using Unity 4.6 with new gui stuff and expecting to get the code running on PSM Vita then?

It's a no go. You must use unity for psm that's at 4.3.7 for now... So you'd probably have to redo your UI using NGUI or other alternative.

The vita is a wonderful little piece of hardware and the guys porting unity to it did an absolutely fantastic job, however you must know that it's still mobile class hardware so you're looking at baking a lot of stuff and doing standard mobile practises still. Unity 5 is better than 4 throughout performance wise.
