Identify the APK installation source

    Hello Guys,

    Need a little help, We want to identify the APK installation source, The reason we want to track that is because our app is being distributed on other Android app stores and we want to block those users. Kindly lets is know if there is a way to do the same.

    Hey @raviraj_vdy,

    This is something that is currently not possible with Unity Analytics. If we implemented a feature like this I am not entirely sure it would give you the ability to block the users from playing your game, but instead I imagine we would be able to segment users according to install location.     Thank you for the support, the link that you have shared is exactly what we require, I would like to know if there is a unity plugin for the same as the solution provide is in Android native and I am not in to android development and dont know how to create a unity plugin for the same.

    I apologize for the late response! I did a search and was not able to find anything but I did reach out to the some members of the Unity Asset Store to see if they had any suggestions. I will let you know if I hear anything that sounds promising!

    Hello mpinol,

    Thanks for the support, We figure out the same, the solution is to pass the install name from android native to unity for which we made a simple plugin which returns the installer name inside Unity which we can cross check with googles installer package name.
