Ideal mesh size

    I'm doing a large site plan, and I use meshes instead of unity terrain. I'm planning on the best way to break up the mesh. What is a good size, in area and vertex count? For example, I currently have 6 meshes at 512x512 with an average of 4500 vertices, It'a taking a while to build. But it does finish, and looks decent. Thanks.
