    Hey folks!

I am planning to learn Unity and I want to develop simple 2D puzzle and idle games, which I love to play. I believe that I have great ideas (as most of the newbies) and I want to implement them in the games I am going to create and also I want to shift my career to this area in the future. But first thing first, I need to learn all the required skills :)

I usually benefit from Udemy for a new skill. Since I only want to focus on mobile game development, the courses in Udemy confused me a lot (I tried one of them a year ago and quit because of the challenges I experinced with the version, now I know my mistake and will not repeat it).

Most of the Unity courses that are interesting for me do not state that they are mobile games. The content of the courses also do not include any mobile game adjustments. So here is my first question, can I convert any game I create in Unity into mobile game by creating the necessary interface once I master my skills?

Here is the second one, are there any sources apart from Udemy that you can advice me to learn creating mobile games with Unity?

Due to the nature of my personality, I can easily get bored when I do not receive results in a short time. Ofc, I don't expect to create a full-function mobile game in a week or month, but I need to see my progression. Is this a realistic expectation while learning Unity? As a background, I have no experience in C# but I am cool with PHP, HTML, CSS. I am also a linguist, that makes me easily understand the structure of artificial languages.

I'm a good learner and I want to spare at least 2 hours a day to acquire these new skills. However, I need to implement what I learn right now. So, I will be glad if you can share the tutorials or courses that can help me to learn while building a mobile game.

Mobile uses the same skills as any other platform. The issues specific to mobile primarily come down to limitations on the performance of the hardware, and the user interface.

There is options to make a game into a mobile game in unity so I think you can but I’m not sure how to yet as I only started learning in January. I hope to make mobile games soon, but I’m guessing to do this you need to learn the same things you can learn for games on other things.

for the quickest route to learning have a look at create with code tutorial in unity learn. You will build 5 different games and complete a challenge to test what you have learnt after each games. It increases difficulty in each one so you learn more. The tutorials are step by step guides that you simply copy and follow so you can’t go wrong. By the end you should be able to do a basic game. Tho these are 3D games some are using 2D format and it shows you can do 2D games in a 3D game.

To make a mobile game, all you need to do is "Switch Platform" from the build settings and choose Android or iOS as the target platform. For a beginner, there are no other specific steps necessary. The same game will run on a PC or mobile with just a button click (ideally!).

but at least most mobiles are touch screen so how do the game controls work on mobile? All games I’ve done use buttons to move, I’ve no idea how to code player movement on touchscreen.

My buttons and UI elements all work without any additional code, it's a very simple UI. They work on a PC with a mouse click, and on mobile with a touch.

The manual covers this. Touch input is simulated when running on PC, but obviously you can only use one touch point at a time with the mouse. I've never tried running a mobile project on a PC with a touchscreen, so I can't say whether or not that works.

I've been learning Unity on Youtube, there are many good beginner tutorials available, and they're free of charge.

In my case I'm seeing gradual improvements in my Unity skills. I've been learning it on and off for about a year, I don't spend a lot of time with it, but have progressed beyond the novice/beginner stage. I'm finding with Unity it's not all that complex or difficult, it's just there's much to learn.

If you're going to be working with it for 2 hours a day, then I think you'll quickly see progress.
