A number of technologies have had streaming playback abilities for a while. I've not read the whole article but I don't get what's "new" about streaming playback that they're offering...

    For...
    The...
    Win...

    "Only" 652MB to begin playback.

A common BBC class reportage again.

Full of incorrect, half hearted research and a lot of hot air.

Valve pioneered digital distribution: blubb. Metaboli / Gamesload were there first. They are even still standing above Steam in the way that they offer game flats, not digital downloads at fullscale hardbox store prices.

Also, Awomo sounds very much like what the metaboli player has been doing for years actually (likely even before Unity). It downloads the minimum required amount of data to play the game and continous to download the rest in the background.

I can't wait for the day when BBC finally decides to do professional journalism instead of this kind of stuff. They are really making as much fun of themself as CNN does with its clear not-knowledge of many commonly known things (outside of USA at least)

    Edit:
So...does that mean that the game is smaller or larger depending on your internet connection? :?
