Sorry, but I can't export the project with Unity XP 2.5 right now, it creates a non working .unity file :(
I'll send it to the support so they can fix it.
I've no choice than to do a crappy video.
The spaceship is HUGE, and fully Bump Details, diffuse, glass, transparency etc...
Full screen Glow, Lens Flares, planets and some basic animations.
I did a similar demo with C4 engine last year but the spaceship had to be scaled down to 15 M triangles.
It is jerky because of the video recorder that jump frames for some reason. The music is made in 2h too...so do not pay attention.
I get an average of 30 FPS on my 8600GT...

    Enjoy

    Incredible.

Is there anything you can do to reduce the polycount?

reduce the Polys, well of course. But it has to be done piece by piece and will be very tedious!

The goal of this technical demo is to show up as max Polys as possible and check the limit of the engine, so I will keep it like this.

The best would be to use textures to avoid all the details on the surface, but of course, Parallax mapping will never replace real objects when see close.

When this demo will work (there is still a bug in Unity so I can't export and use the Big Spaceship in 3d on the web) I will post a similar link so everyone can fly around it. The video is really crappy and blur most details.

If you could manage to decrease the poly count to around a million, this awesome ship could probably be an entire game in itself. ^-^

    That's ... fantastic?

That's the largest quantity of polys I ever seen in a realtime rendered scene :D

(ps: I think the scene of crysis with the highest poly count is around 2 million...)

Well I got this idea that a team could invade the space ship (will be filled with tunnels and rooms) and have to place a bomb to destroy it in different places, while another team would protect and defend the spaceship. I would be a 'capture the flag' style game a la Day of Defeat or Team Fortress.

But I'm a bit limited in graphic (I'm a programmer) so I would need to have a graphic artist to collaborate with, so I can focus on where I'm good at. If anyone is interested, contact me in private.
