Huge City Generation - Terrains, Trees, Buildings, Streets... - Project Tehran

    Lately we've been working to run a demo project for TerraUnity using our latest products' features.

    The goal is to fill in every unresolved aspect of a realistic urban environment in a 3D scene. There aren't much out there for creating a complete city level easily but as time passed, we have pleasantly innovated new methods in the filed of mass placement and generation of assets in a fully managed way. These methods involve a lot of user specified settings plus automatic tweaking which will lead us to have a quick n' easy urban model in the way that it is in reality.

    A visually realistic 3D scene is not just about having good looking assets but nature simulated variations such as size, color, density, placement and ... of course a powerful computer!

    Project Tehran will continue to have more capabilities covered during our products' development. Currently, a part of the city of Tehran has been generated from the ground up to give it a starting point.

    Buildings and Streets have been placed and some generated automatically and they have been textured entirely in a fully automatic condition without any manual editings using the latest features of future TerraUnity releases.

    i would be interested in some sort of guide. my interest is in choosing a north american city

    PLEASE whatever you do.. work HARD to allow import of as many and as much OSM as possible

    also.. i am [and many others on their own] building a virtual planet earth, please keep in mind that possibility as you work.

    You can use our plugins to virtualize and simulate any locations on Earth and we are working hard to make our products more useful and robust for generating realistic 3D scenes.

    Currently we use OSM data files for roads and streets generation in a fully automatic manner in the upcoming TerraRoads (TerraStreets) plugin. But as OSM data files include many other useful features, we consider to extract them out of it to use them in our products.
