Hub 3.0.0-beta.3 Completely Broke Licensing

    Hello all,

    The hub beta updated from beta.2 to beta.3 this morning for me, upon which it completely broke the licensing component. It was unable to find my active activations, nor would it allow me to re-activate.

    • I went to id.unity.com, and manually revoked my activation for my machine.
    • I attempted to enter the serial number through the hub activation flow, and was presented with an error that said the serial number wasn't valid.
    • I attempted the offline/manual activation, but couldn't do that as it wouldn't save the activation request file, reporting "Unable to save license." [sic]
    • Rolling back to production (2.4.5) found my already existing activation (though I imagine it will likely expire when it checks for updates due to revoking it through id.unity.com.)
    I've attached a `info-log.json` generated, from startup to attempting to activate via serial & manual, to finally exiting to roll back to production. Interesting bit around lines 36, and 700 or so, is that it seems like it actually *does* pick up a valid license from `C:\ProgramData\Unity\Unity_lic.ulf` But then at line 240, it looks like it falls out of `licenseValid` to `licenseNew`. ‍♀️

    Same here, it won't recognice my personal license, can't add a new one or save the current one because an error with "Unable to save license" appear when I try to save the file to make it through manual way, etc. Fix it, please.

    Same experience. Licensing is broken - unable to use Unity. Anyone know where to find 2.x installer downloads? Not interested in having to use a beta.

    Version Beta3 is really completely broken! :(

    Also had this problem with a Pro license.

    Yep, unusable. Licensing is completely broken :(

    If any of you don't want to wait until a fix, you can open the Editor version you have already installed from the location of the install > Editor > Unity.exe, and then choose the "Open project" option; or, if you prefer, always can go back to the Production channel of Hub versions clicking on the "Switch channel" link on the botton-left part of the Hub app.

    Edit: I prefer to wait, to be honest, but please, fix it fast, I love the dark theme :(:D

    Yep, this is what I did which got me going again. But I didn't realize how quick I had gotten used to the dark theme!

    Just take a peek at the channel, just swap it back to production and you should be good to go!

    Unity hub 3.0.0 looks like its released, but bug not fixed for me

    Getting the same error, Mac 10.12 "There was a problem activating a new personal license. Make sure you are logged in, and have internet connection." It also takes probably 1 minute to load (which is just a blank page). I am sad I uninstalled Hub 2.2.3 because that was working fine. Does Unity have backup for people running older computers?

    In Hub, you can click on your profile avatar, under Troubleshooting, click on Report a Bug. Fill the small form and submit the bug. We will have a look at this as soon as we receive the information.

    I have plenty of internet so I don't know what is going on with it.

    We are aware of some bugs in Hub 3.0 regarding licensing. We have investigated and a fix will be done in Hub v3.1 which will be released soon.

    As for your case precisely 8bitgoose can you sent me your logs privatly?

    Completely Broke Licensing in win 10 v3 and beta 7!!! unusable, neither activate in any way nor use the editor, completely broken and does not allow to work, you cannot even go back to version 2.4.5 because it is not allowed nor is there an official repository same in beta 7

    @martin-unity It is working after I upgraded to Mac OS 10.13 (High Sierra). I would suggest you set the minimum requirements to 10.13, 10.12 will not work and throw a bunch of errors. Probably due to High Sierra changing a bunch of stuff on how things were rendered in the system.

    @8bitgoose Glad you could make it work! We are actually working on a fix for Mac OS 10.12 and hope to release it as soon as possible
