How would i create terrain similar to this?

    You may get a better feel for the background if you play the game called Jelly Jump. However instead of just moving up i want to move my character towards the z axis while the terrain on the sides is endless.

    Model it in a 3D app, such as Blender.

    I guess it's time to learn blender, im beyond horrible in art though.

    Is Blender free to download? Sorry for noob question - i am completely new to all of this, also are there any good blender resources you'd recommend a complete novice to read through?

    There are a plethora of videos and tutorials on Blender. Use google. Blender is indeed a free download last i heard.
