    Hi,

I'm planning on creating a 2D platformer game, with no prior experience of 2D game developing in Unity. I have however developed several 3D games in Unity, including a survival game, a single-player fps game and a multi-player fps game.

    How would I do this?

    See below:

    Thanks in advance,

I watched that last night, it's not what I'm looking for, since he didn't explain how to make the platforms that you jump up to. I'm in a hurry, you see. ;)

I followed up with his video, and it turns out it's going to be a new series, which is great! Although, I have encountered an error:

    NullReferenceException
    UnityEngine.Transform.get_position () (at C:/BuildAgent/work/d3d49558e4d408f4/artifacts/EditorGenerated/UnityEngineTransform.cs:27)
    PlatformerCharacter2D.FixedUpdate () (at Assets/Sample Assets/2D/Scripts/PlatformerCharacter2D.cs:36)

    Could you help with that?

    Thanks

NullReferenceException errors aren't specific to Unity's 2D functionality, so they should be easy for you to figure out and fix on your own considering that you have already developed several games in Unity.

Wrong, I have developed several 3D games in Unity. I presumed this was completely different. Wouldn't you be able to give me some tips?

Nah. Someone with your repertoire should be fine on their own :)

You might get quicker responses in the Answers section and by providing the section of code that's choking.
Also, check out some of the Live Training videos - they were pretty helpful, imo

Alright. Seeing as no one wishes to help me progress, I shall ask my 'teacher' - and follow up from that.

I would certainly attempt to help if I thought I could help even with my limited knowledge but you haven't given anyone anything to go off of except for an error.

I can see that you're using the Free 2d Assets Beta package from the asset store which I'm also using - give us some more information about what you're trying to do and maybe someone could help.

In any case, best of luck.
