How to use Unity3D offline?

Hi,

I'm pretty new here so sorry if i posted in the wrong forum..

I would like to start using unity 4.1.2 basic on my big computer but that computer is always 100% offline; could I still use unity on it? ( also what about the Pro Edition ? )

Also I've tried looking for books and magazines on unity but only thing I've found either doesn't exist anymore or is from 2009. Does anyone know of anything more recent or for unity v4.1.x that I could use to get a jumpstart with unity?

( something for newbies or intermediate developers would be great )

Yes! You just have to activate it online...

search for "Learn me silly" unity3d tutorials, they are pretty good. plus there is a host of unity tutorials, videos and examle projects on the unity site
