how to upgrade a unity project from 5.2.1 to 5.2.2?
Should you just leave the project folder untouched while uninstall and reinstall unity?
And when the new version opens should you just open the project?

    Copy the project folder elsewhere.

Yeah. It doesn't really matter how you store it. Just that you store a copy you can recover from if the attempt to move to a newer version of Unity doesn't pan out. It also helps prevent losing your game if something happens to your computer.

A small update like that [hopefully] won't cause any issues. But you never know. Is 5.2.2 a patch or is that one official now? You should check the patch notes if it's just a patch. Sometimes patches fix things you don't need and break things you do need.

Maybe this person was asking for a suggestion besides zipping. Maybe.

We can't be sure until they get back to us :D We'll know when we see one of the following in a response:

    1. "How do I zip?"
    2. "Is it worth it to learn git?"

    OR
I backed up my project file on the same drive as the original and installed the updated Unity and had the hard drive crash (unrelated to the new Unity version). Can I recover the back up? haha o_O

I was going to post after work that I also upgraded to 5.2.2 and none of my projects exploded. It appears to be safe to use and compatible with 5.1+ :D
