Question How to texture large objects?

    I am working on a hangar type building, but cant figure out how to texture it?

    Even large textures with cracked plaster walls, cracked paint etc. will look too fake when tiled, due to the large area.

    What is the proper procedure in a situation like this?

    I would have your tiling textures blend in and out of each other using something like vertex blending, or a splat map. If you look up either of those things you should get some good results. This is how large terrain is done as an example.
