    Hello,

I am new to Unity and would like to build a very simple VR game in which you can move floating objects around a space.

I am having troubles testing directly from Unity. I have followed and accurately copied a number of different tutorials on how to do this, but when I press play in Unity, the game does not pop up in my VR headset. The only way I can run the game is by building and running it. This however ends up as a file on my VR headset which I can not move around in. In the tutorials people can use the joystick on the controller to move around the space. This is not possible in my case.

Does anyone know why this is and how I can fix it?

    That is correct.

If you mean the joysticks on the Quest controllers, of course it is possible. You just need to write code to make it do that. It's not something that happens automatically.
