How to rig clothing in Maya so I can use Unity's Cloth component

    Hi,

    So I'm having issues bringing in my skinned character and skinned clothing into Unity, and then applying cloth to my characters clothing. Here is my issue:

    The meshes are fine when I play an animation. As soon as I apply cloth to the skirt, that's the result.

    Here is my Maya setup:

    I tried parenting the meshes to an empty object, tried them without parenting, and some other ways. Nothing works. I've tried it with other meshes I have, same issues.

    When I tried it with Unity Chan mesh, the cloth works fine. I must be doing something incorrectly when either exporting or how my mesh is setup.

    Any thoughts? Thanks.
