i didnt see any information about how to publish with the epic game store, i see there is the Epic online services sdk but says its not integrated yet for Unity or UE4

"We designed Epic Online Services (EOS) SDK from the ground up to be as portable as possible across both hardware and software platforms. It is currently available for desktop platforms, with additional platforms planned for the near future. Integrations for both Unreal Engine 4 and Unity will become available at a later"

Right now Epic is focused on reaching out to developers on their own. I don't think there's a timeline for open submissions yet.

Currently the only thing you can do is fill out the submission form at the bottom of the link below and wait for them to contact you.

The Epic game store is not yet welcoming indie developers in general. Fill out that form, but don't get discouraged if Epic treats you the way they treat all unknown indie devs.

If you developed a game that has already generated millions in revenues, then Epic would love to hear from you.

They need to establish a sizeable and desirable curated place first, in order to be competitive, before opening the flood. That's how they distinguish themselves in the short terms from the chaos of internet and steam.

They kinda have a ton of indie titles in their catalogue, but they're certainly selective about them.

For example, following titles are on epic store and are not in the "millions" category:

    • Bee Simulator
    • Wattam
    • Nuclear Throne
    • Ruiner
    • Superliminal
    • Yaga
    • Costume Quest
    • Jackbox Party Pack 6
    • Knight's quest
    • What the golf
    • Untitled Goose Game
    • Atomicrops
    • The end if Nigh
    • GNOG
    • Tetris Effect
    • Flower
    • Ooblets
    • Minit
    • Celeste
    • Drawful 2

From bigger Indie titles there are:
    • Subnautica
    • Inside
    • Axiom Verge
    • Thimbleweed Park
    • Satisfactory
    • Slime Rancher
    • Oxenfree
    • Outward
    • World of Goo
    And so on.

Basically it seems they're looking for quality, but indies are allowed. There are pixelart games in catalogue.

Indies are allowed, but they only want indies with existing proven success. For example, Nuclear Throne is a well known success with over a million in revenue. It is available on Steam for $11.99, and had sold over 492k units as of last summer according to the leaked sales numbers:

In some cases epic games scouts out studios with prospective projects even if it si their first one.

I can think of two examples right now: Ooblets and Satisfactory.

Aside from that this can thought of as having a curation. Which may be a good thing. Steam decided to allow everything on their store, but it feels like the quality of their suggestion algorithms went down in past year or so. There's a lot of junk now, and there are asset flipper games.

Satisfactory is developed by Coffee Stain Studios, which also released Goat Simulator. The success of Goat Simulator may have played a part in getting Satisfactory onto the Epic store.

Ooblets was originally announced by Double Fine, so that may have initially helped get it onto the Epic store.

the EGS is too new to open the gates to "general" indies. It definitely needs to be heavily curated at the start.

If it want to be, what it claims to be, it will be always heavily curated.
