    Hello,

I'm having major difficulties with moving a Unity project I've on my desktop PC over to my laptop. All the files are there when I move it (copy/paste entire project folder onto an USB drive and then cut/paste it to laptop), but every change that I've made to my screen are gone... all the assists are still there, but everything on my screen are none existing, all the placement, all the textures, all gone...

I've tried this multiple times by now and it still doesn't work... I've also tired to zip the whole thing from my desktop and then unzip it on my laptop and still no dice... any suggestions?

Both PC and laptop use Win7 64-bit.

Are you copying the Library folder? If so, try deleting that and having Unity rebuild it. Really, all you need to move a project over is everything in Assets and ProjectSettings. Everything else gets autogenerated.

Also, goes without saying but I'll say it anyway. Backup before deleting...

Not just the Library folder, I'm copying the entire project folder. In this case "Point_Processing_2015" which has all the other 'stuff' lying inside of it (assist, projectsettings, library etc.).

So you want me to make a new project folder and just copy my Assist and ProjectSettings folder into it? And then opening the new folder with Unity should restore anything else? Or?

I went to Google, and did a search for "Unity Move Project", and this was the first link that pops up:

    http://answers.unity3d.com/questions/273912/moving-the-project.html

Try following those instructions first. A lesson here is that Google search is your friend, and you will more often than not find a very good answer to your Unity questions, already written out. It's essentially what I'm talking about. If you have trouble following that, reply back with what you are stuck on.

Also, I'm not sure why you keep using "assist". It's called an "asset".

I'm not sure what they mean by "enable" all I can do is to make the meta files visible... but I've already tried that and I still get the same issue with everything in my screen/level isn't there anymore... almost like it resets or something when I move it from my desktop to my laptop.'

EDIT: and just copying Assets and ProjectSettings didn't help either... so I'm pretty stuck...

Hmm... strange... I tried to open another project that was already on my laptop, which I haven't moved anywhere and it had the same problem with everything in my screen/level were as it it had been reset or something...

I'm trying to reinstall Unity on my laptop, in hopes that it might fix whatever the f*** is wrong... no offence to the Unity team, but this program seems rather buggy...
