i try to use plugins like uniform and storm effect. they take too much tris and verts. and don't work well.
i want to know how to make the effect in 2D game.
    continue use particles?
or give the sprite my own material with shader?
    or some image effect?
target to make the game beautiful. i want some advice.
such as ori and the blind forest, haha

    thanks

Depends on the effect u want to archive.
Particle is good with image effect(something like amplify color , it's not too much expensive) it's a good combo , u can also script your own particle system by using object pooling (https://unity3d.com/learn/tutorials/modules/beginner/live-training-archive/object-pooling) and make them follow the player) it's not too much expensive until you dont have too much sprite and they can be spawned casual and have rules in it (like changing alpha with time or have two object pool , one that collide with the ground and other then disappear after some time)

(Just dont kill and respawn the sprite everytime)
(Sorry for my bad english , hope that was post was usefull)
