How to make a trail "scroll" or "tile"?

    Hello,
    First, I'm not sure this thread is in the right section...
    On to it, I have a trail for my ship, but as of now it's just attached and it streches as the ship moves.
    I would like to make it scroll backwards (like the colors do), is there a way to do this?
