How to make a sword?

I have an animation that plays when I click the mouse and it moves my sword object. I can't figure out how to make it so that if the sword hits something it destroys it.

 

Have you gone through this first: https://learn.unity.com/course/create-with-code ? If not I highly recommend it as it will answer this and many of the other basic questions that come up when first developing and in general will help you make something much faster
