How to create a game prototype in 15 minutes (or less)

This thread is dedicated to the awesome publishers on the Unity Asset Store. Without their assets this wouldn't be possible. I got asked several times how to do this or that with an asset and so I tried to show in timelapse videos how to set up certain scenes. However it turned out that the length of the videos was always below the 15 minute limit of youtube, so the videos were uploaded with original speed.

It is really impressive how quickly you can create a prototype of a game. I do like the timelapse videos of people who do everything from scratch. But what I also would love to see is how you can quickly and flexibly combine assets and get gameplay results. If you have similar showcases to share, please feel free to contribute. Here's how to create a Mud-Runner style game. Assets used are in the youtube description.

Features:

* quick population of a terrain with vegetation
* dynamic sky and weather
* driving an 8-wheeler and have tire tracks on the terrain with displacement where the car drives

 

A Western Style Game

Features:

* cowboy running around
* cowboy mounting horses and wagons and riding and driving them
* dynamic sky and weather
* tire tracks on the terrain with displacement where the wagon drives

 

Bunnies hopping in Medieval Environment

Features:

* quickly populate a terrain with vegetation
* have bunnies hopping around and follow each other
* grass bending when the bunnies hop over it
* dynamic sky

 

Car Driving Scene

Features:

* quickly create multi-tile terrain and apply stamps to get rid of the flatness
* add textures and vegetation
* create a road, in this case a circuit
* rig a car from the store using nwh vehicle physics pro
* dynamic time and weather
* postprocessing
* touch react, i. e. bend the grass when the car drives over; have it bent down for a while longer using a trail renderer
* dynamic terrain wetness

Helicopter Rescue, Flying through City with Building on Fire

Features:

* create a city quickly using CScape
* fly with a Silantro helicopter through the city
* dynamic time and weather
* postprocessing
* particles
* Mixamo character with animations

 

Forest Huntress riding / flying on the Pegasus of Horse Animset Pro (HAP) in Castle Valley

Features:

* custom gameplay character running around, mounting horse, riding and flying with it
* replacing the model of the Rider prefab of HAP with a custom one
