How to create a folder outside my existing Assets folder?

    I was going along with the tutorials, because I'm a first time user, and I just can't seem to figure out why I can't create a folder outside my Assets folder.

    What specifically are you trying to do? I'm assuming you don't mean going to the filesystem, right-clicking and making a new folder.

    Unity allows very limited access to file system..

    To create new file using scripting you need to use System.IO.Directory class.. which allows to create folder at specific location(mostly Application.persistentDataPath) as other locations are Read Only in final build..
