I couldn't find an answer to this when I searched, so I'm sorry if this was asked already. Also no idea how to tag this.

I'm trying to change my file paths to my (D: ) drive, but when I load up a project I get this error

    upload_2022-8-11_1-28-45.png
& here's the Editor file report
Failed to resolve packages: Failed to add editor bundled package [D:\Program Files\Unity Hub\Editor\2021.3.8f1\Editor\Data\Resources\PackageManager\Editor\com.autodesk.fbx-4.1.1.tgz] to the package cache:
ENOENT: no such file or directory, mkdir 'C:\Users\Me\AppData\Local\Unity\cache\npm\packages.unity.com\.tmp-15344-5YFFByqj1zV9'. No packages loaded.
A re-import of the project may be required to fix the issue or a manual modification of D:/Program Files/Unity Hub/Projects/Project/Packages/manifest.json file.
Exiting without the bug reporter. Application will terminate with return code 1
I've tried to look at the manifest file with my notepad++ but there's nothing in there about a file path. Do I just have to it make myself? If so, how do I do that?

Have you tried a re-import as suggested?

Also you may want to edit your image as it feels as if you're displaying personal information.

Yeah I did. I've actually spent a few weeks trying to solve this on my own. The only thing that I haven't been able to do was edit the manifest like it says. And don't worry. Nothing personal is on except my name, which is shown more here anyways. Thank you though. :)

All good; just thought I'd check.

So is it your project or your Unity install you're trying to move? Are they on the same drive, or are they being moved from a different drive onto drive D? Or some other situation?

It looks as if your Unity install is trying to look for packages in a place that they're not.

I've already moved everything. But when creating a project this error pops up saying "Failed to add editor bundled package" & that it's looking for a ".tmp-15344-5YFFByqj1zV9" file in my (C: ) drive but I moved everything to my (D: ). & the error screen is saying to either re-import or change the path in the manifest file, but the manifest just lists a bunch of codes starting with "com." & nothing looking like a file path.

That didn't exactly answer my question, so I'm going to assume you meant moving your Unity install itself.

So on that note, you can't really move programs around willy-nilly; Windows doesn't work that way. And when a Unity version is installed a bunch of directories are maintained for caches for things like packages.

Your best bet is to start clean. A fresh Unity Hub install and a fresh Unity version, installed where you'd prefer them to be.

If you meant moving your projects, I think the same advice is sound.

And yeah, the way to 'move' big programs like Unity is often to uninstall and reinstall.

Oh sorry. Yeah I moved the Unity Install, Editor, Downloads, & Projects all to my (D: ). I also gave it admin permission & the file location full access to write & stuff.
I'll try again to uninstall everything & install them in (C: )

So I re-installed it all so it's all on the (C: ) drive. I'm still getting that error though.

I reset my computer & redownloaded everything to fix another problem I was having, & I guess it fixed this 1. Not sure what I did, other than make a new account from scratch on my desktop. Thank you for trying anyways. Have a good day. :)
