how to always display line numbers in editor

Hi, I'm new to Unity, and work on a PC. This is a simple Q, but I could not find any anwers online or in the forum.

Every time I open a script in the editor, the line numbers are not there. I have to select View/Line numbers for it to show up. And if I close the editor and open it again later, the line numbers disappear again.

Is there a way to permanently display line numbers? Thanks for your help.
