8 is pretty standard most places, but if you mean indie as in working at home on your own project, it varies. I spend about 10-14 hours a day, 6 days a week but thats a combination of paid projects and my own

As much as needed. Think of it like any salaried position. You don't punch the clock but you definitely work more than 40 hours a week. You can't think of indie development like you do working an hourly job. It is a value added occupation not a time served one.

In the beginning of a project 8+ after one year 6+ after two years 0-4. And the burnout is very real.

This is my second indie game the first was completed/sold took us 5 years. I could have earned 5x times more working in "normal" company.

If only I have made more money from the first project I could have some hopes.

For indies there isn't a standard. Keep in mind that plenty do it along side other jobs, so it'll depend on availability, energy levels, passion levels, and so on.

2-3 hours before 'real' job and 2-3 hours after, Sat and Sun are not much different between household stuff,
while I'm doing the other stuff in life I'm thinking of what I need to do with my game.
    (even dreaming in my sleep)
    So, pretty much 24/7.

    9:30am-5:30pm, 5 days a week, whenever possible.

20 days leave a year plus public holidays.

my rules i try to follow:
    1) don’t work overtime, it’ll kill your productivity.

    2) Keep a consistent schedule or you’ll kill your productivity

    3) plan your work before you start or you’ll break the first two rules and kill your productivity

    4) work smarter not harder
