Greetings! So glad to meet you all.

I’m new in the game develop world.

I want to being developing a game ,However,I need to take decision about the chosen game engine i thought about Unity but i need urgently to know whether unity meets my app nature so that i think about buying license , Kindly wana ask if someone have tips that help me to survive in this event.

Thanks a lot for your attention.

    · Cross Platform including (Android, iOS, WPF and UWP).

    · WPF compatibility (open the game in the current WPF Page not External Window).

    · Support Touch Events as well as Mouse Events (Touch ,Click ,Zoom, Slide, and Other Gestures).

    · Support different types for Shapes Drawing 2d (with the ability to recognize the boundary of the shape, when click outside the 2d shape even one pixel it must not do the event ,3d would be a plus.

    · Draw Arrows from point to point (Dynamic Arrows).

    · Ability to draw rounded shapes (with high resolution) and curve Textures.

    · Add Images for Backgrounds and Company Logo, as well as svg vectors.

    · Support Gridding and collision detection.

    · Support Animations.

    · Good performance in all platforms.

    · Development support and open source ( support on programming and the existence of tutorials in the internet).

Everything in that list (except for open source which isn't a feature but a license) is achievable with any modern engine and has been this way for a while now. Just keep in mind some of it will be on your shoulders to implement (eg optimizing for performance) as engines will only hold your hand to a point.

Also note that licensing can be free, provided you meet the criteria for it. Of course you can get a paid license either way, but since you mentioned buying one, I thought I'd add that.

You can lookup the different tiers easily.

Wellcome to this forum Petter Maria! I experiment with other game engines and at the end of years experimenting building my game, Unity was more simple [link] to code & very Cross Platform [link].

Look at this Unity web page: https://unity.com/solutions/2d

You do not need to pay to use it. You can use the free version. When you start earning with your game [100k Yr] you can start paying the subscription model for this engine. The new render pipeline is smaller and probably what you are looking for.

@petter12maria I recommend looking the video so that you have a direct idea.

    Shapes Drawing 2d: [link]

    Collision detection: [link]

    Animations: [link]

Also, there is a User Interface for making buttons [link] and is very powerful

svg: [link] but Probably there are other methods or assets.

Draw Arrows and Ability to draw rounded shapes probably you need to code it but In general, I use textures.
    [example]

Development support [link], you can pay for Premium Support, other build support or there is this forum. I'm a user like you answering.
Open source: You can put open source only your scripts for developing your game. That scripts that will be in the folder Assets. If you purchase software from the Asset Store shop [link], that particular assent can't be open source. As well as Unity engine can't be open source. But is better this way because is difficult to optimise the entire Unity editor and is simple to optimise just your game! so you finish with less content to look, control and optimisation. Unity will keep care of the rest.

Here there is mini tutorials: https://unity3d.com/learn/tutorials/lets-try

There is much more but I hope this lines can help you.

Maybe he is talking about opening the game in a window...

How to make a game build window or platform: [link]
Logo splash screen: [link] in the Unity subscription there is a branding option to hide "made with Unity" logo.
