I'm not 100% familiar with speedtree, but my best guess is, that you accidentially created the speedtree with billboards instead of meshes/geometric shapes.
You can't simply turn it off, but I think there is a setting when generating a tree to use meshes instead.

Thanks for your answer. Unfortunately, I'm using the default Unity Speedtree (I didn't create it).

In the speedtree apps you can define the leaves geometry type, and one of it is the cards (camera facing quad).
but you can change it to whatever you want

OK. Sorry. Yes, I'm using GAIA and am in the editor and have generated a 'landscape' and when I put the Vive on and try and view it, all the leaves of the broad leaf tree are trying to face me (the camera). I want to turn them off. I have disabled wind, but I can't figure out how to turn OFF the 'leaves facing the camera.'

Do I just need to purchase a different tree and populate with it? FWIW, the OTHER tree in the scene (also Speedtree and also part of the standard Environment assets in Unity) does not have the same problem. Hope that helps.

What version of Unity? as far as I know newer versions fix VR issues with billboards. You'd have to check though...

Need the Speedtree Modeler to do that.
