    Hi there,

I am a college student that is going to create a basic virtual tabletop for D&D I am having a hard time deciding between making it as a Web Application or with Unity. I have no experience with Unity so I would be developing it as a complete beginner, I want to know if it is a doable idea in the first place to do it with Unity? I would want thing's like Dynamic lighting, Movable Tokens, Dice Rollers and Dynamic Character Sheets are these a possibility to do?

I am just trying to get an idea if Unity is a possibly as a beginner or if it would be a much more advanced concept to do. I have 4 month's to create this Virtual Tabletop, is that enough time to learn unity and create this virtual tabletop?

Any insight would be much appreciated!

It's certainly doable in Unity; whether a beginner could learn everything you need to know in 4 months is hard to say (it depends on how much previous programming experience you have, etc.).

Yes Unity is more than capable of doing this kind of project. 4 months is probably too aggressive to both learn Unity and complete the project though, as I would assume you're not going to have all day every day to work on this during that 4 months.
