How do you use animations that animate to a values defined at run time ?

    I want to animate a progress bar that animators to a value that is defined at runtime, but i see no way to do this with the animations and animator controller? It seems it only does animations to specifically defined stuff in the animation?

    Is this basically not the tool i should use for animating things based on in game values?
