    I have a 2D game, and I want a simple particle effect that goes inward from the base. So, the particles will spawn outside the player and go inward toward them before they disappear. I thought you could just make the end of the cone smaller than the base, but I could not change the size below it. Is there a way to do this? Thanks.

    You should be able to achieve this effect by giving your particle system a negative Start Speed and manipulating some other values of in the Inspector. For example, try the following settings:

    Start Speed = -0.5
    Start Size = 1

    Under 'Shape', set the following:

    Shape = Cone
    Angle = 25
    Radius = 1
    Emit from = Base Shell

    This should create an inward cone particle effect. Of course, you can alter the settings to suit your needs.

    I tried the methods here. I don't find that it works for me. All it does is reverse the direction the way the cone faces rather than have the particle start at the big part of the cone and work themselves towards the point.

    I just figured I'd offer my two cents, since I was looking for a way to do this with the cone shape as well.
    I was able to achieve the effect I was going for (particles emitting from the wider end and going into a point, the opposite of a cone emitter) by doing this (If I don't specifically mention it, then it's the default value when you first make a particle system component):

    Particle System:
    Start Speed: -.55

    Shape: Circle
    Radius: 3
    Radius Thickness: 0

    Force over Lifetime:
    X:0 Y:0 Z:-1

    I'd say the main values to tweak to get a cone shape that you really want are the Force over Lifetime z-axis and the Start Speed.

    I hope this helps someone cause I spent most of this day trying to figure out how to do this xD.
