How do I use Puppet2D to edit animations I've already made without it?

I have a character prefab that uses body parts and bones, the animation files are Unity's .anim, all the animations are in a drop down menu in Unity's animator tab... just givin you an idea of what I'm dealing with here.

So I purchased Puppet2D and neither the videos nor anything else is telling me how to work with pre-existing characters with pre-existing .anim animations, it only talks about importing images and making totally new animations.

Has anyone done anything like this before? I've also contacted the creator, but just in case he's busy or doesn't know/care, I'm making this post too.

heeeh, I don't think you can do that; but it's due to a Unity limitation afaik.
If you were able to replace the animated linked objects in the animation hierarchy, you could do that.. but I've never found how to do that so I assume you can't :)
