How can I get data from excel?

I know this is an old thread, and I'm usually not that keen on self promotion, but a while back I wrote an interface to NPOI (An Excel interface for C#) that works with Unity.

It is not that well tested (as in, no unit tests or integration tests) but I've used it in a game before and it held up OK. I would suggest it more as a starting place to grab code or see how certain things work, so I'm posting it here more as a resource that might help a few people, than a final product.
