Sure, maybe look if somebody beat you before posting a new score, ... i expect a good battle towards the end of the month... i might also be tactics to not reveal your score right away ;)

Most of the times the baloon pops by itself :(

    I suggest adding a cross-hair,
and prevent baloon from popping itself if it is in within a close range from the camera.

And I didn't even know there is a goddamn "Speed-Up" key!

Well, the balloons have lifetime... if you don't go too high, your chance is better to catch them before they pop.
controls are described in the menu... the speedup key is essential for good scores :D
I wont change anything on the demo though, even if its only a crosshair, i got too carried away while making it already, need to focus on SnazzyGrid now!

It's cool to see some participation on the challenge! i am a little bit tempted to reveal my own highscore, but lets say it this way, your scores are cute :p;)

my score is 10 time worse in fast mode :)

My suggestion is to incorporate Unity Everyplay and have people post replay's in order to win.

That, sir, is insane  my highscore is around 1.4 millions, you have put me to shame :p
I find the trick with the speedup button is to only use it between the balloons, if you press it constantly you are getting way too fast to aim properly.
Incorporating Everplay is a very nice idea! At some point i maybe make an online scoreboard for it and turn it into a real game but for now i am working on the SnazzyGrid update.

So, I have been playing this Horiz[ON] baloon game the whole yesterday and today.

Turning down all the quality settings, my score increased dramatically. (AA, Texture Quality, Aniso Filter)

I use the "Speed up" this time. (I can't believe I miss this key feature yesterday lol!)

I accelerated my mouse to 2.0 sensitivity input.

Wrote a macro that allows me to turn 180 degrees immediately.

But I can't get anywhere close your monster scores lol.

I even performed a few Whoopsie (To 70-80 combo) 3x in the same game.

Tell me how'd you do that? @_@

By the time I reach 70-80 combo,
almost all the balloons that are left are too far away to be reached!
(Effectively reducing the volumes at the top to bottom like in the diagram below)

While I could continue to add up time, the lighting somehow gets darker and darker, making it too hard to see. :(

As a CS : GO maniac, I am ashamed I lost in a very huge margin

At the edge of the area, if there is no nearby baloon, without this 180 immediate turn (Need twice mouse sensitivity for this to work), the combo chain would've died down. (To produce constant performance during each gameplay, where I am "Unlucky" that there is no "nearby baloon" at the "edge", I wrote this macro.)

So actually, you should've added this key to perform an immediate turn!

And yeah, why does it gets dark anyways?
It becomes more and more impossible to distinguish the colors.
(Or else I could've been going forever!)

    Powergamer :p

Don't go in lines but go in large circles... my highest combo was 114, running out of balloons is not the problem for me. Only missing a balloon is tragic when you have a good combo going. Anyway you both have beaten the my higscore already, i expected it to take longer.

    What the heck!!! :eek:o_O
    You are the chosen one!

I truly feel honored that you went that crazy with my demo! I felt that it is a little addictive but your score is beyond good and evil. Maybe i should really turn this into a game. Looks like you need more challengers than the unity community can deliver.

Edit: Need to get the mac version out asap, definitely before Horizon[ON] gets approved by the Assetstore staff.

    I can't believe I just spent 20 minutes popping balloons. ;)

I'm going to need practice to get anywhere close to the scores that have been posted so far.

wow, i abandoned my helicopter game coz i had to make massive terrains so as you cudnt see edge of terrain+play with fog. so my navmeshs would be huge etc.(just a mess). With this, its a complete wrap. Glad to hear you're working with Tom on this. It will perfectly complement the best terrain shader ever.

Well you can still compete for 2nd or 3rd place. I was surprised that the 3 million highscore was beaten quite soon so maybe this 12.8 million score will also be beaten. 12.8 millions is uncanny though.

About the price: Unity recommends 50$+ but i decided to go for 35$. At least for now.

Not sure how the update system works - but suspect with U5 they have a whole lot more activity than usual.

I imagine they are dealing with a lot, from Unity 5 release and all the press that goes with it, to refunds, and to a backlog on the asset store due to GDC and all the added issues.

Hope it is out soon though! I keep watching.

Hey, now that it is finally live on the assetstore, i would like to know how you guys percieve the assetstore presentation...
Also, the presentation in the first post of this thread. Is there something i could improve, are there things unclear and so on? Would be happy to get some feedback.

Purchased it a few hours ago, not had time to play with it but took a look at the docs. One thing I would like to have seen is a video tutorial in addition to the written tutorial.

Your text is hard to read in your images. The background is too bright or the font needs to be changed.

Yes i will make a video tutorial as soon as i managed to get the SnazzyGrid update out of the door and finally made mac versions of the Horizon[ON] Demos... busy but exciting days for me :D

yes, sorry for the delay with this, i realized i worked on the scene of the performance demo for testing and need to revert some things first. Its definitely coming, also the challange needs to be fair for everyone.

Thanks, yes you are right, i brightened the background for the forum post as it was looking so dark... readablity has suffered abit. Will change this.

@Becoming Hello, this look really really nice! I was wondering, would it still work with a bunch of meshes rather than a Unity terrain?

    Thanks,
It uses only meshes for the horizon itself, and the terrain in the center of the demo is actually also a mesh ;)

Love your work on GOAT, i really dig the artstyle :)

    Oh thank you, sir! :)

So as you know in the game I have very defined structures and the setting (atop a cliff overlooking a lake) has also some set dimensions that need to be taken into account. I was thinking of trying your very nice asset, but I don't use Unity terrain (all my terrains are meshes). Do you think it would be a good fit for such a situation?

And I was wondering how much control you get on the overall topography of the land surrounding the "hero set". In other words, how much can you "sculpt" the visual look of the result?
