    Hi everyone,

I have the Cybermind Visette45 and i want work on it, but i'm totally new in the VR, HMD and the Unity.
Till this point I only find info but about Oculus and nothing for Cybermind visette45 :/

Can anyone tell me the keysteps, to put the HMD working?

At this point, I just want put working with a simple scene (like a empty room), in which the person with HMD could look all around.

    Observations:
    Product: http://www.vrlogic.com/index.php/en/head-mounted-displays/cybermind
I saw this video but again for Oculus Rift

    I appreciate your attention
    Best regards

    Hi Fil3,

The Cybermind Visette 45 is a legacy HMD that we produce. I am sorry to hear that you have had some troubles.

The Visette 45 is quite simple to get working using Unity. The Visette does not require the engine (unity) to perform any lens correction, this is why there are no plugins or special options needed (as there are for Occulus). This is maybe what confused you. The Visette 45 will be detected and behave like any computer monitor.

If you need help on how to setup a 3D stereoscopic application (should you have a 3D Visette 45), please let me know what your setup is. There are several ways to go about this, the easiest is:
    • Create a view port that can displays two cameras. You'll want two cameras side-by-side so one camera at 0, 0, with Width = .5 and Height = 1. The other camera would be at .5, 0, with the same width and height. (http://answers.unity3d.com/questions/8202/how-to-make-a-split-screen-2-cameras-rendering-at.html)
    • Set the cameras so they represent the HMD displays. This means a horizontal distance equal to the display distance (IPD) and a viewing angle equal to the horizontal viewing angle.
    • Merge the two monitors (one for each HMD display) to a single wide display (Resolution 2xSXGA = 2560x1024). Make sure the left display aligned to the left side of the new wide display. You can merge the displays with AMD eyefinity or Nvidia surround.
    • Start your application with a resolution of 2560x1024 and display it on the HMD.
(There are other ways this can be accomplished that may suit you application better)

For a true immersive experience you'll want to use the HMD with a IMU (Inertial Measurement Unit). This will allow you to basically 'look around' in first-person applications. The implementation of this is different for every IMU. Just let me know if you need any information, we can get you started.

The official sheet for the visette can still be found at our website should you need more information about the headset (http://cinoptics.com/product-category/overview/cybermind/). If you need any more help just reply of PM me or contact Cinoptics directly. Hope this helps you get started.
